WHAT DOES "ENDERUN" MEAN?
Enderun Colleges takes its name from the Turkish word, enderun. Enderun refers to the palace school established during the Ottoman Empire (1299-1923) where the most promising children were educated in, among other things, the art of public administration. Enderun was also considered a royal school. The children of Enderun underwent the finest of Turkish education in order to become high-level administrators and statesmen of the Ottoman Empire. Similarly, Enderun Colleges, in drawing its name from such historical origins, seeks to deliver a world-class level of management education and equips its graduates with professional competencies of the sterling quality required to manage the world’s leading institutions.
WHAT IS ENDERUN'S MISSION?
Enderun aims to graduate students with the academic training, professional competencies, and character required for success in today’s complex world, by offering international-caliber degree programs that combine management theory and practical experience in a values-rich environment.
WHAT IS ENDERUN'S TEACHING PHILOSOPHY?
Enderun’s learning framework places great importance on the balance between theory and practice. Founded on that philosophy, students learn concepts and theories and enrich them through first-hand experiences. In the classroom, emphasis is placed on student-centered learning, where teaching methodologies are shaped with a focus on students’ learning styles, and require maximum involvement from students. Students are also given opportunities for experiential-learning both in and out of the campus through laboratory modules, field trips, tours and practical internships. This learning-by-doing approach strengthens academic perspectives, and contributes to the students’ personal insights when they return to the classroom.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS HERE AND ABROAD?
Enderun offers:

  1. International-caliber degree programs with global partners such as École Ducasse
  2. World-class facilities to deliver world-class educational experience to students,
  3. An office dedicated to career development and industry placement with over 900 industry partners where students can gain real-world work experience,
  4. Multicultural faculty members who are industry practitioners

Another main difference from other schools is that the students take up a combination of general education subjects, management subjects, culinary subjects and some hotel management subjects and earn a Bachelor’s degree. Other schools, particularly culinary schools, focus on the technical-vocational aspect.
