Enderun Colleges is introducing a more purposeful approach to college credential-building. Alongside their degree and academic transcript, students can develop a digital portfolio that shows employers the specific skills they have demonstrated through assessed, career-focused work.

This approach is taking shape through Enderun Badge Credentials, or EDGE Credentials, under the College of Business and Management. EDGE Credentials are course-embedded digital badges awarded to students who meet defined competency and proficiency requirements in participating subjects within Enderun’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program.

Introduced beginning the First Semester of Academic Year 2026–2027, the framework builds on Enderun’s earlier course-linked badges by establishing clearer academic standards, professional outputs, and evidence of competency.

What Are Enderun EDGE Credentials?

EDGE stands for Employer-aligned, Digital, Graduate-ready, and Evidence-based. These four principles guide how every credential is developed and assessed.

“Each principle served as a design test for every credential we offer,” explains Dr. Lyndon Avendaño, Dean of the College of Business and Management at Enderun Colleges.

Employer-aligned means the skills reflect workplace needs. Digital means the credentials are designed to be shareable and verifiable. Graduate-ready means they focus on capabilities students can bring into their early careers. Evidence-based means every credential must be supported by demonstrated performance.

How Are EDGE Credentials Earned?

A transcript confirms that a student completed a subject and records their overall performance. An EDGE Credential makes a more specific claim about what the student can do.

“A subject grade reflects performance across many topics, activities, and requirements, while a credential makes a precise claim: this student can do this particular thing,” says Dr. Avendaño.

Students do not automatically receive an EDGE Credential after passing a participating subject. They must also meet the credential’s defined standards through designated competency assessments embedded in the course.

According to Ms. Aileen Nanca, Program Head for Business Administration at Enderun Colleges, each credential begins with the learning outcomes of its corresponding subject. Faculty members identify a career-relevant competency, design an appropriate assessment, and determine the professional evidence students must produce.

Depending on the subject, these outputs may include financial analyses, investment recommendations, dashboards, market research, process-improvement proposals, supply-chain plans, business cases, implementation roadmaps, or professional presentations.

“Passing the course and earning an EDGE Credential are related, but they are not automatically the same achievement,” Ms. Nanca explains.

Turning Business Knowledge Into Professional Evidence

One example is the credential connected to Investment and Portfolio Management under Enderun’s BSBA Major in Financial Management. Students may be required to analyze market conditions, develop an investor profile, prepare an Investment Policy Statement, evaluate investment alternatives, construct a diversified portfolio, assess risk, and defend their recommendations.

The resulting professional output may take the form of an Investment Policy and Portfolio Strategy Dossier supported by analytical models and an investment-committee-style presentation.

The credential therefore communicates more than the completion of a finance subject. It provides evidence that the student can analyze information, make appropriate investment decisions, formulate a recommendation, and explain the reasoning behind it.

The initial EDGE portfolio includes credentials in marketing, operations, inventory management, investment and portfolio management, and business data analytics. Additional credentials in logistics, supply chain planning, and business research are being prepared for future implementation.

Students may earn several credentials as they progress through their degree, gradually building a professional portfolio of demonstrated capabilities.

Helping Business Graduates Stand Out

The Enderun Badge Program responds to a job market in which employers increasingly look for a combination of technical, analytical, and human capabilities. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 identifies analytical thinking as the most sought-after core skill among employers. It also lists AI, big data, cybersecurity, and technological literacy among the fastest-growing skill areas.

For students applying for internships or entry-level positions, EDGE Credentials can make these capabilities easier to communicate.

“A student can list their digital badges on a résumé or LinkedIn profile, link them to their portfolio, and speak confidently in interviews about how the competency was assessed,” Dr. Avendaño says. “This shifts the conversation from ‘I took a course in this’ to ‘I have demonstrated this skill.’”

Enderun intends to issue EDGE Credentials as verifiable digital badges that students can add to their professional portfolios and share on LinkedIn and other platforms. The administrative and technical process for issuing the credentials is currently being finalized.

Over time, the College of Business and Management plans to expand EDGE across its programs and develop stackable credential pathways. These pathways will allow students to build a coherent record of competencies relevant to their chosen fields as they progress through Enderun’s wider range of business and undergraduate degree programs.

The degree will continue to represent the breadth of a student’s academic preparation. EDGE Credentials add another layer: visible evidence of what that student can apply, analyze, create, recommend, and defend.
