JB CUARESMA

Mr. Jovel Bernardo Cuaresma handles Accounting and also advises the School on operations, processes and standards. With postgraduate qualifications in business management, JB has done consultancy work for private corporations, government agencies, and non-government organizations on various functional areas such as human resources, community development, investment management, business strategy, marketing, financial management, and information technology. His academic experience includes teaching stints at the Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College, International Academy of Management and Economics, Warnborough University (London), and the Entrepreneurship Institute of Australia.

ROBERT STAVELEY BOUMPHREY

Mr. Robert Boumphrey is Enderun’s lead faculty for Fundamentals of Economics. Robert, an Australian national, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology (Honours class) from Durham University in the United Kingdom and obtained a  Master of Arts in Economics from Simon Fraser University in Canada. Robert has lived in the Philippines for more than 25 years and was formerly Director for Governance, Finance and Trade in the Mekong Regional Department of the Asian Development Bank.

MARTHA GOEBEL

Ms. Martha Goebel is Enderun’s faculty for General Psychology. She earned her degree Magna Cum Laude in that discipline from Liberty University in Virginia, USA in 1996. She has since done research on aging and the elderly, and finished her Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Relations at the University of Connecticut in 1999. From 2000 to 2005, Martha handled various functions at the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries in Makati City, from teaching social science courses to counseling and providing career development advice.

ALLAN ROI ROÑO

Mr. Allan Roño’s teaching experience in the education industry spans 17 years. His expertise lies in English Communication, Literature, Humanities and Public Speaking. He joined PAREF Southridge in 1989 and transferred to St. Scholastica’s College (SSC) in 1992 where he remained prior to joining Enderun. While at St. Scholastica’s, Allan coached the SSC’s Delta Chi Debate Club and Avalon Forensics Club.

Allan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree major in Interdisciplinary Studies from Ateneo de Manila University. He obtained his Certificate in Teaching from the Philippine Normal University and is currently earning his units for his Master of Arts in Communications from ADMU.

Allan enjoys volleyball, badminton and mountain biking. He also dabbles in amateur photography and video recording.

JESS ALFONSO MACASAET

Mr. Jess Macasaet teaches Introduction to Philosophy. He also heads the School’s Research Department, tasked with implementing Enderun’s research agenda, while also giving inputs on faculty development. Prior to joining Enderun, he was a freelance consultant specializing in case research and project management. He has done research on various topics such as social development, resource conservation, reproductive health, urban security, rural poverty, education, corporate social responsibility, leadership, and governance. His clients have included the overseas aid agencies of the United States (USAID), Australia (AusAID) and Canada (CIDA), the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, and the United Nations Development Program, the League of Corporate Foundations, the Caucus of Development NGOs, and a number of private corporations. He also worked at the Asian Institute of Management and the Ateneo School of Government, handling learning materials development and programs on public leadership and development management. A Philosophy major from the Ateneo de Manila University, Jess is currently finishing his MA in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

ERWIN LIZARONDO

Mr. Erwin Lizarondo split his career time between academic institutions and socio-civic organizations. After finishing his AB Psychology degree from De La Salle University in 1998, he worked as a Guidance Counselor at the Ateneo de Manila University and as a Lecturer at Thames International Business School and Colegio Sto. Domingo. Since 2004, he has worked on training, publications, and institutional assessment projects for Ateneo CORD, the Ramon Magsaysay Awards Foundation, and Ateneo’s Gawad-Kalinga Program on urban poor housing.

MARISSA JUSTAN

Ms. Marissa Justan is Enderun faculty for Investment Math. Her facility with numbers is well established: she finished her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics (Major in Actuarial Science) from the University of Sto. Tomas in 1984, her MS in Mathematics at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1988, and her PhD in Mathematics - also at the Ateneo – in 1999. She concurrently teaches at the Mathematics and Information Technology Departments of the Ateneo de Manila University, and has also taught at Trinity College and De La Salle University.

MARICEL OBIETA

Ms. Maricel Obieta teaches Humanities at Enderun, an inter-disciplinary course in the arts, literature, history, and philosophy. She is currently enrolled at the University of Asia and the Pacific, where she is completing her second graduate degree, this time in Humanities (her first MA is in Communication, at the Ateneo de Manila University). She has also taught English in seminaries, language schools, and private corporations. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics cum laude from the University of the Philippines in Diliman.

XAVIER CHENG

Mr. Xavier Cheng is Enderun’s Academic Coordinator, and he also handles the School’s National Service Training Program (NSTP) 2 class. His professional experience is in the hotel industry, having worked at the Holiday Inn Galleria Manila and the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila after earning his BS in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde in 2004.      

MARIA KATRINA PALENZUELA

Ms. Maria Katrina Palenzuela teaches Introduction to Economics. She has been in the banking sector since graduating cum laude with a degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines in Los Baños, gaining experience in loans, accounts management, international trade, marketing, and business development. Katrina is currently working towards an MBA from the De La Salle Graduate School of Business, and is also studying Nihongo and Bahasa Indonesia on the side.

JAMES CLARKSON

World History professor James Clarkson earned his undergraduate, Master’s and Doctorate at the University of Chicago, and has also taught at the Universities of Michigan and Hawaii over the course of 15 years (1966-1981). In between teaching assignments, Dr. Clarkson also conducted undergraduate and graduate lectures, supervised thesis and dissertation writing in Southeast Asian Studies and Geography, and acted as outside panel for the departments of Anthropology, History, and Education. From 1983 to 2000, he did consulting work on economic development in countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Viet Nam, and Bangladesh. An avid scholar, Dr. Clarkson is currently working towards a law degree via Concord University’s online program.

CATHERINE BABAO-GUBALLA

PazMs. Guballa teaches Business Communication. A journalist by profession, she has served as Editor-In-Chief of leading heath, parenting, and lifestyle magazines in the Philippines. She was also a writer for the Foreign Broadcast Information Service of the American Consulate General’s Office in Hong Kong. In 2006, she was appointed Communications Manager of the United States Embassy in Manila, responsible for its external and internal communications needs and ensuring that the embassy addresses its public with a single voice.

Cathy is currently a parenting columnist and contributing editor at the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the country’s leading broadsheet. She is also a lecturer at the Ateneo de Manila University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Business Management in 1986. She is working toward her MA in Family Psychology and Education at Miriam College.

UDO GOEBEL

Philosophy professor Mr. Udo Goebel has been teaching the course for seven years, along with other subjects such as Church History, Christian Ethics, and Intercultural Studies, for institutions such as the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries and the International Graduate School of Leadership. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Studies from Liberty University and his Master’s degree in Theology from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, both in the United States. He is finishing his PhD in Dogmatics and Church History at the Ateneo de Manila University.

CARMITA ELIZA ICASIANO

Ms. Icasiano handles the course on Philippine History. She also lectures on two other courses at two different institutions: Art Project Management at the University of the Philippines (UP)  in Manila, and History of Japan at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). To further highlight her divergent interests, is also the president of an organization of artisans, and has worked as a newspaper columnist and a researcher for the University of Sto. Tomas Museum of Arts and Sciences and Museo ng Kalinangang Pilipino of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Mitzi earned her Humanities degree Magna cum laude from UA&P, and her Master in Philippine Studies from UP’s Asian Center.

ADOLF ARAN

Adolf AranMr. Aran teaches Marketing, and has been practicing in the field since completing undergraduate studies at the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 1988. He has taken the helm in marketing, promotions, and brand management for big manufacturing firms such as CFC Corporation and San Miguel-Purefoods, as well as restaurant chains such as Roaster’s Philippines, Inc. (Kenny Rogers’ Roasters) and International Family Foods Services, Inc. (Shakey’s). He has also lectured on the subject at Thames International Business School and Raffles Education Group in Malaysia. At present, he is the Chief Marketing Officer and Assistant Vice President of PHINMA Education Network.

Adolf earned his MBA from Nottingham Trent University in Malaysia.

VIVENCIO TELAGON, JR.

Mr. Telagon, Jr. handles Sining ng Pakikipagtalastasan. A long time educator, he has taught at the University of Asia and the Pacific, St. Scholastica’s College Manila, and the High School departments of Ateneo de Manila University and Claret School of Quezon City. He has also served as judge in the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, the country’s most prestigious citation for creative writing, and other collegiate contests that promote the Filipino language. He has lent his expertise in linguistics and education to academic institutions and the public sector through speaking engagements and consultancies in learning materials development.

Jun has a Bachelor of Secondary Education (Major in Filipino) from the Philippine Normal University, and a Master of Arts in Language (Filipino) from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
